About Mohbatti

A quiet house of heritage candles, made the slow way.

Mohbatti began in a small kitchen in Mumbai, with a single brass urli, a wooden spoon, and the stubborn belief that some things should never be rushed. Every candle we make is poured by hand, in small batches, the way our grandmothers would have made them — if our grandmothers had made candles.

Our fragrances are rooted in things that actually smell like India: mogra picked at dawn, sandal sanded into powder, kesar pulled by hand, marigold strung for the morning prayer. We don't try to be a French house. We're not trying to be anyone else's house.

Every brass urli is hand-finished by artisan families we've worked with for years, and it's yours to keep long after the wax is gone — a planter, a trinket dish, a quiet keepsake.
